Medico Legal Assessment and Neurorehabilitation

I have over 25 years of experience in providing detailed neuropsychological assessment for medico-legal reports relating to personal injury.  I specialise in neuropsychological disorders arising from acquired brain injury and/or severe psychological stress, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Neuropsychological Assessment:

I provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of the cognitive, emotional and behavioural effects of personal injury.  Neuropsychological assessment includes detailed assessment of cognitive, emotional and behavioural changes arising from physical or mental trauma.  The individual's strengths and difficulties are then considered in relation to their pre-injury level of functioning.  Assessment can also help to identify longstanding deficits such as dyslexia or attention disorders which can interfere in academic work or employment.

Cognitive Rehabilitation:

I provide therapy and treatment for a range of psychological problems arising from personal injury.  I have substantial experience in brain-behaviour relationships, especially when these impact on memory and attention, or lead to psychosomatic (functional) illness.

Therapy may include cognitive remediation of memory and attention problems in addition to treatment of behavioural and emotional problems, such as PTSD.  I can work with families and/or rehabilitation teams in advising how best to maximise the individual's cognitive and psychological potential.
